Frequently Asked Questions

I cannot connect to my SonicWall SSL gateway. What can I do?

SonicWall SSL uses HTTPS — the same protocol your browser uses to access websites. First, please check whether you can open the gateway address in your browser. For example, if the gateway address in your VPN Tracker is vpn.example.com, open your browser (such as Safari or Firefox) and enter https://vpn.example.com in the address bar.

You should see a SonicWall login page. If the page loads but you still cannot connect using VPN Tracker, please contact our support.

If the page does not load, here are some common issues and possible solutions:

  • Check whether you have a firewall or endpoint security solution installed, such as Little Snitch or Symantec Endpoint Protection. Temporarily disable these tools or add an exception for your VPN gateway address.
  • Try connecting using a different internet connection. For example, enable Hotspot mode on your iPhone and attempt to connect through your hotspot. If this works, the issue is likely related to your internet router or internet service provider.
  • If you cannot reach the VPN gateway even with a different internet connection, contact your VPN administrator to verify that the gateway is running.
