What is Code & Study?
The Code & Study Program is a unique opportunity for students to work on real software projects alongside full-time, experienced equinux developers, and gives you the chance to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience.
About Code & Study
Time commitment Code & Study participants work alongside equinux developers 1-2 days a week during the semester, here at our Zeitpunkt Haus offices
What does the Study part refer to? Additional learning resources and tutorials are provided for you to go through in your own time, that complement your current area of focus
How is progress measured? You receive ongoing code feedback, regular check-in meetings and can level-up within the program
How long is the program? The duration of each Code & Study level is approx. 12 months. Once you complete a level, you receive a Code & Study program certificate and can move up to the next level of the program.
Code & Study requirements
Which skills do I need to take part? The Code & Study Program is a 12 month program open to all students of computer science (or similar) from the 4th semester onwards.
To ensure we find the best fit for your skillset, the program offers three levels which are designed for every experience level. During your time in the program, you will learn the key skills you need to advance and gain more experience.
All levels include -A clear plan for your professional development -Mentoring and study plans -The opportunity to try out new technologies
Starter Level This level is best suited to those getting started with development. At this stage, we expect you to have a basic knowledge of one programming language (Swift, Go, Ruby or similar) and to have built simple UIs. You will be supervised closely by our senior developers and will contribute improvements and fixes to our existing products.
Intermediate Level Intermediate level applicants will have already had some experience building a product (e.g. an App Store app, production website or a similar project). At this level, you are able to work on complex apps with several views and also have some experience with web-backend development. You will be working semi-independently on more complex improvements, as well as developing new features for our products.
Associate Level Associate-level applicants should have already worked on shipping an app and should also be fully competent in building new features. Ideally, you will also have a good amount of server and client experience to bring on board. At this level, we expect you to be able to work independently on apps and be able to build a new product from scratch.
Please also provide an estimate of which level you are at based on the descriptions above. Don’t worry if you’re not sure, we will determine this should you be successful in your interview.
